Simondium Primary School

The school offers a variety of co- and extracurricular activities:

• Sport and culture activities include Rugby, Netball, Soccer, Athletics, Basketball, Dance and Cricket.
• A yearly Derby against another rural school.
• The school has a senior and junior choir and partakes in many categories of the Parel Valley Eisteddfod yearly.
• Learners are identified each year to participate in the ATKV writing school and in the Mathematics Olympiads, including AMESA and Horizon.
• The school has an award-winning vegetable garden that is maintained by the learners and community. Produce from the garden supplements the feeding scheme for learners’ lunches.

We collaborate with community organization (Simondium Community Development Forum), where community challenges are discussed and established a network with Community Keepers, ACVV, SAPS and pastors from different churches. They assist us with emotional, socio-economic and pastoral issues that learners are facing on a daily basis.

The school is a 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 , as all community activities are done on the school premises. Simondium Primary School is fortunate to have the support of community organisations, who contribute towards the holistic development of our learners.
